GUARDIAN ANGELS
The Guardian Angels is the South Coogee Junior Football Club's All-Girls program, which we launched in 2017. In 2018 we had our first all girls Year 7/8 team and they were a great success with their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. The girls demonstrate passion, determination and mateship that is rivaled by none. In 2021 and 2022 we had five teams in the competition with girls between school years 3 and 12 participating.
Each year the number of girls joining the Club has grown, while we have seen great development in their skills. In 2019 our inaugural Year 9/10 girls team took out the premiership, and in 2020 the club took out the premiership again. In 2021 many of our girls again had the opportunity to play finals with our Yr 11/12 team runner up in the grand final, then in 2022 our Year 11/12 girls won the Peel Districts Championship.
In 2023 the club aims to continue our commitment to the girls program with hopefully the addition of one to two more teams to our list.
